​​​​​Dr. Duel is board certified in General Adult Psychiatry and has experience in providing psychiatric treatment for the full scope of mental health disorders. He also has a special interest in Addiction/Substance Use Disorders and has successfully helped many struggling with use disorders overcome their struggles through therapy, medication management, and lifestyle optimization. As Medical Director of an outpatient addiction clinic, he created and led a clinical team of counselors, therapists, case managers, and nurse practitioners to provide clients with wraparound care addressing both addiction and mental health disorders. He has also worked as an Adult Psychiatrist in the Los Angeles area through various community clinics serving patients on Medi-Cal and those suffering from severe mental illnesses. 

Dr. Duel is a UCLA Bruin through and through. He obtained his bachelors in Psychobiology at UCLA, completed medical school at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, and completed his psychiatry residency training at UCLA. Through his training at UCLA, Dr. Duel also worked at the West Los Angeles VA, trained in TMS, and trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety, mood, and sleep disorders. He has extensive pharmacologic experience treating complex mood, psychosis, OCD, anxiety, and geriatric disorders. 
 
In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and spending time with family. He is also fluent in Farsi. 

​​​​​Mariam Fazil, DNP, PMHNP, is a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).  She completed a double major at Cal State University of Fullerton where she earned a BS in Nursing and BA in Psychology. She then embarked on her career as a Pediatric Psychiatric Nurse (RN) by participating in the CHOC Children's RN Residency program. Her worked in the CHOC Children's Cherese Mari Laulhere Mental Health Inpatient Center, where she committed five years to the compassionate care of children aged 3-17 struggling with acute mental illness disorders.
 
While working as an RN, Mariam completed a BSN to DNP program specializing as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at University of Massachusetts Global (formerly known as Brandman University). As part of her doctoral endeavors, Mariam worked on a study focusing on the identification, management, and treatment of compassion fatigue through non-pharmacological modalities, including meditation. Presently, Mariam serves as a versatile Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) across multiple clinical settings, including outpatient, inpatient, and telepsychiatry, catering to diverse age groups. Her professional expertise extends to the comprehensive treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, geriatrics, and psychosis. In her free time, she enjoys reading anything Harry Potter, traveling, and going on foodie adventures with her husband.
